Zeltbahn used for camouflage

The Zeltbahn was considered to be highly suitable for camouflage purposes. The dark and light sides of the splinter pattern and the summer and autumn sides of the Waffen-SS shelter quarters enabled them to be used for various light conditions and seasons. They could be employed to camouflage command and signals posts, foxholes and trenches, observation posts, scouts, patrols, machine gun nests and weapon pits and ammunition stockpiles, for example.

Their use as screens at frequently used points on roads and paths or to hide movement in open terrain, for example, was also recommended.
